Iqrar Miyan is a traditional flute maker, he picked up this skill from his father and grandfather. Iqrar Miyan is a Law graduate but soon he decided to join the business of his family.
Pilibhit is also known for making various types of flutes — like the ordinary straight flute, side flute and Musical.
The last is expensive and is mainly used by professional art. Flute maestros like Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pannalal Ghosh, Ronu Majumdar and many flutists have used instruments made here.
Iqrar Miyan mainly prepares Flute, Shehnai, Been and Dumroo for the professionals.
Iqrar says that children of craftsmen are no longer interested in the family tradition and they want to shift to other professions.
